FTDI USB to RS232 DB9 Serial Port Adapter Cable 2m
This is an USB to RS232 levels serial UART converter cable incorporating FTDI’s FT232RL USB to serial UART interface IC device which handles all the USB signaling and protocols, great for serial devices that you want to convert to USB. The cable provides a fast, simple way to connect devices with a RS232 level serial UART interface to USB. Each USB-RS232 cable contains a small internal electronic circuit board, utilizing the FT232RL, which is encapsulated into the USB connector end of the cable. Creates a perfect solution for laptops that does not have serial port and establishes a bridge between the serial device to the computer USB port. The cable (adapter) is compatible with all Windows, Linux, and Mac operating systems that support USB operation. The total cable length is 2m end to end (connector to connector). Virtual COM Port Drivers are available at the FTDI website (click here). Virtual COM port (VCP) drivers cause the USB device to appear as an additional COM port available to the PC. Application software can access the USB device in the same way as it would access a standard COM port. Installation guides are available from the Installation Guides page of the Documents section of the FTDI website for selected operating systems. Please note that this cable (adapter) does not include any manuals or instructions for use, and we don't give such instructions.
