Motorola Visar Replacement RS-232 RIB-less Programming Cable
This cable is designed specifically for quick and easy programming of the Motorola Visar series handheld transceivers. It requires an external 9-12V DC power source, which should be connected to the DC lead fitted with PP battery snap. This is not a straight forward cable, there is an internal converter circuit board (interface) mounted in the DB9 shell. The cable communicates directly with a computer through the Serial (COM) Port, following the RS-232 specifications. This is a RIB-less cable with built-in interface, so that the Motorola RIB is not required. Simply hook it up to your computer. This single programming interface cable completely replaces Motorola RLN4008 Radio Interface Box (RIB) with 3080371E46 cable. If you are new to programming old Motorola two-way radios, please open this document and read it first. Please note that the Programming Software is not supplied with the cable.
