Yaesu Replacement CT-142 USB Programming Cable for FTM-350 Series
This cable is fitted with 8-pin mini-DIN male connector and based on the FTDI FT232RL USB to serial UART interface. It is designed specifically for quick and easy programming and/or CAT control via USB port of the following Yaesu FT-350 dual-band transceivers: FT-350 (20W), FTM-350A (20W), FTM-350E, FTM-350H (50W), FTM-350R, FTM-350AE, FTM-350AH (50W), and FTM-350AR mobile transceivers. The power supply is done over the USB interface, following the USB 2.0 specifications. This is not a straight forward cable, there is an internal converter circuit board (interface) mounted in the USB shell. This single programming cable-interface completely replaces Yaesu CT-142 cable. The cable communicates directly with a computer through the now popular and standard USB interface. A physical Serial Port connection is not needed since the FTDI drivers emulate a virtual Serial Port which communicates with a radio at the required TTL voltage levels. The programming cable is compatible with all Windows, Linux, and Mac operating systems that support USB operation. Please note that the Programming Software is not supplied with the cable. Virtual COM Port Drivers are available at the FTDI website (click here). Virtual COM port (VCP) drivers cause the USB device to appear as an additional COM port available to the PC. Application software can access the USB device in the same way as it would access a standard COM port. Installation guides are available from the Installation Guides page of the Documents section of the FTDI website for selected operating systems. Please note that this programming cable does not include any manuals or instructions for use, and we don't give such instructions. Therefore, it will be assumed that the purchaser is knowledgeable in using the product for the applications it is designed for! We do not write or support programming or CAT control software, only the author of that software can help you. We can not give you more information about FTDI drivers installation than the comprehensive instructions on the FTDI website (see above).
